Why is the government rolling out the NBN?
The National Broadband Network (NBN) will provide 93% of Australian homes, schools and workplaces in urban and regional towns with high-speed internet, as well as phone access to optical fibre. This will give people across Australia better access to services, such as eHealth and streaming TV, along with many other internet-based services.
Why will I need to make a change?
Most existing alarm systems in Australia utilise the analog telephone to communicate. Analog telephone lines send alarm signals to an alarm monitoring centre.
Once the removal of your analog telephone lines is complete and replaced with a digital connection, your alarm system may not be able to communicate with an alarm monitoring centre. We, the Australian Security Company, recommend the use of a Wireless Alarm Communicator unit. These Wireless Alarm Communicator unit will allow your alarm system to communicate independently from an analog telephone and/or NBN.
Any one of the many 4G Wireless solutions currently available through Australian Security Company will provide an independent wireless communications path. These 4G Wireless solutions aren’t reliant on the NBN network and will make your transition as easy and seamless as possible. In many cases, they’ll save you money.
One of the main benefits to switching to a 4G wireless solution is the ability to control your alarm system using our mobile application. You will be able to arm and/or disarm your alarm system from anywhere in the world with your cell phone application.
Some of the advantages of changing to a Wireless Alarm Communicator monitored solution:
Give the Australian Security Company a call on (07) 5532 6644 when NBN comes to your area. To give you confidence that you’re protecting what’s most precious to you, we’ll make sure your system can still communicate with our Grade A1 compliant 24/7 Security Monitoring Centre.
Please visit www.nbnco.com.au to find out when NBN will roll out in your area. Contact the Australian Security Company and one of our security specialists will offer you an obligation free assessment.
During the NBN rollout, existing analog phone lines and internet network infrastructure will receive an upgrade. This upgrade will replace the existing analog telephone lines with digital broadband. Once the rollout is complete in your area, you will no longer have access to a fixed-line analog telephone. This may affect how your alarm system communicates with an alarm monitoring provider.
Once the removal of the analog telephone lines is complete, there is a big possibility that your alarm system may not be able to communicate with an alarm monitoring centre.
At Australian Security Company, we will continue to protect what matters to you, family and business. During the transition, we can advise and guide you to an alternative communications path should you need one.
With Australian Security Company, you’re in safe hands.
For years we’ve seen security cameras in shopping centres and airports, but nowadays business owners and homeowners are investing in security cameras too. Is this just a fad or are security cameras here to stay?
As security specialists, we can say without a doubt CCTV systems and security cameras are here to stay. Don’t believe us? Here are 3 reasons why security cameras aren’t just a fad:
Reason 1: A Deterrent
Not only are these camera systems important security tools, they are also a fantastic way to deter any unwanted attention.
In fact, many accept CCTV systems to be one of the most effective crime prevention tools. The very presence of a security camera can help dissuade criminal activity, including theft, assault and even robbery.
Reason 2: A Watchful Eye
Simply put, CCTV cameras watch your property when you aren’t there. For both homes and businesses, alarm systems are an excellent way to protect your premise and your people. But, security cameras can provide a whole new level of security and protection.
After all, they can tirelessly keep watch over your entire property as well as record and document any goings-on, including suspicious activity near your property or vandalism to your property.
Reason 3: Evidence
Unfortunately, not all security camera footage receives video verification. However, that doesn’t mean your security cameras won’t pick up important things.
For example, if for some reason a robbery occurs or someone vandalises your property, your CCTV cameras can record and collect evidence of the crime.
It is important to note that there are strict policies in place to ensure no doctored or edited video enters evidence. That’s why your CCTV footage may not make it to the courtroom.
You can, however, use your CCTV camera footage to assist your local authorities. You can also submit your security camera footage as proof to your insurance company when you put a claim in.
